Digital teaching and learning in higher education, HP00BQ03, 5 ECTS

The course corresponds to LIN1: Introduction to digital teaching and learning

 

Learning objectives

The participant will after the course be able to

  • identify and explain what digital teaching, learning and communication in digital media means
  • describe and identify different working methods for hybrid learning
  • apply digital technology and networks in teaching
  • evaluate digital course material and be able to use it by copyright regulations
  • didactically design a digital course with current research

Content

The participant reforms and develops his or hers own basic digital pedagogical outlook and competence. The participant familiarizes with different didactical methods and basic questions on digital teaching and learning, digital information literacy, digital communication, copyright and evaluation and quality in higher education based on current research. How to plan digital teaching and how to execute teaching and support the learning process on a digital course will be treated during this course. This course can be completed as hybrid course, where you in part can participate in Vaasa and in part remotely.

 

Digital tools for teaching and learning, HP00BQ04, 5 ECTS

The course corresponds to LIN2: Tools for digital learning 1.

 

Learning objectives

The participant will after the course be able to

  • Identify the different possibilities for digital teaching and learning within work and education
  • make use of the digital teaching in a versatile way within work and education
  • evaluate different choices of media in his or hers own teaching
  • produce materials with different programs
  • reflect on his or hers own learning process and teaching

Contents

The participant will get familiar with the possibilities in designing digital teaching and learning. The participant will study and use tools and applications in digital teaching and learning. The participant will design and execute two small development projects in digital teaching. The course content is based on research on interactive learning environments and pedagogical development work. The course is carried out in the form of a portfolio. Each participant should gather min. 8 short courses within two academic years for the portfolio. The skills are demonstrated by accomplishing two small development projects in digital teaching. The projects are presented in workshops.
