We offer publication services for the University of Vaasa and the Vaasa University of Applied Sciences. Services include collecting publication information, parallel publishing, publishing in universities’ own series and managing publications archives.

Collection of publication information and parallel publishing
For VAMK, we are responsible for the publication information reporting service Justus and the parallel publishing of publications in the publication archive Theseus. For the University of Vaasa, we participate in the validation in the research database SoleCRIS and are responsible for the parallel publishing in the Osuva publications archive.
Publishing in the universities’ own series
Tritonia handles the layout of publications in the publication series of the University of Vaasa and VAMK and maintain the publication template and guidelines of the University of Vaasa. We ensure that all publications to be published online are accessible in accordance with the law, provided that the submitted manuscript follows the guidelines of the university, including alternative texts in figures. In addition, we communicate with the printing house regarding printed publications.
Prior licence model RRS
As decided by the Rector, the University of Vaasa has implemented a prior license model for scientific peer-reviewed articles as of 1 January 2026. The prior licensing model, which is globally known as the Rights Retention Strategy (RRS), is used by more than 190 universities around the world. Many prestigious universities have adopted the RRS. All Finnish universities have their own prior licence policy.
The RRS strengthens the researcher’s rights by ensuring that the author retains the right to make the peer‑reviewed manuscript (author accepted manuscript, AAM) immediately available through self‑archiving under an open CC BY licence.
