We support the staff and postgraduate students at our university and universities of applied sciences in data management, for example, by providing guidance and courses on data management and evaluation and support for management plans. We contribute to the development of our universities’ research data services as well as research and metadata storage services.

Data management plans
We act as maintenance users of the DMPTuuli tool, which supports the creation of data management plans, and provide guidance and training on the use of the tool and the creation of the plan. We also offer help with reviewing and commenting the DMPs, which is mandatory for some externally funded projects.
Openness of data
We are committed to national and our universities’ open science policies and promote the openness of data by encouraging the publication of research data or at least its metadata in national or international data repositories. We act as local user support of the national Fairdata services and encourage the description of metadata of the data using at least the Fairdata Qvain tool. In VAMK, metadata is stored in Justus.
