Publication metrics, or bibliometrics, refers to quantitative research that focuses on the number of scientific publications and the citations made to them. The most used metrics are usually based on analysing the number of citations the publications have received. Responsible use of publication metrics supports knowledge management at universities.
The units of the University of Vaasa can request support for bibliometric analyses from the library. Tritonia provides guidance in publication metrics and teaching sessions on topics such as:
- Researchers’ publications and h-index in various bibliographic databases (Web of Science, Scopus, SciVal, Google Scholar)
- Most cited publications (journals, articles, WoS, Scopus)
- Researcher profiles
- Publication Forum’s JUFO levels
Tritonia participates in the research assessment exercise of the University of Vaasa conducted every five years. We can also assist with other extensive research evaluation projects of our universities when agreed upon.
