Return the loan to the library unit where you borrowed it from. Use the return machine next to the main entrance in Tritonia and the return basket in Tritonia Allegro.
When the library is closed, return your loan to the return chute. Loans that are returned after opening hours are processed on the next opening day.

Overdue fees
We charge an overdue fee in accordance with our service prices for overdue loans and loans renewed late. The maximum overdue fee is 10 euros per loan.
Daily overdue fees do not accrue to the staff of the University of Vaasa, VAMK and Novia, but an invoice for an unreturned loan is sent and a patron block takes effect.
A patron block occurs when the amount of overdue fees is 15 euros or more. A customer with a patron block cannot borrow, reserve or renew loans. The block is removed when the fees are paid for in full or below the block limit (15 €).
How to pay your fees
You can pay overdue fees online in your account in the Tritonia Finna search service or with a card at the customer service desk. The highest amount you can pay at a time is 100 euros. If there are any problems, contact us at loans@uwasa.fi.
In Tritonia Finna, you can pay with domestic online banks or with a card. When you pay online, the entire amount must be paid. Online payment is not possible during service interruptions.
- Log in to Tritonia Finna.
- Go to Your Account and Fees.
- Select Pay online.
- Once you have made the payment, return to Tritonia Finna, so that the payment registers to the library system without delay.
The authorised Payment Institution Paytrail Plc acts as a collecting payment service provider and forwards the payment to the merchant. Paytrail Plc is stated as the recipient on your bank or card statement.

Compensation fees (unreturned, lost or destroyed material)
Books are considered lost if they are not returned within 50 days after the due date. If you do not return the loan despite the return requests and warning of invoice, we will send you an invoice to compensate for the material (minimum 80 €/book). By agreement, you can replace the book with a new copy, contact loans@uwasa.fi.
After the invoice is sent, the book becomes the customer’s property and it cannot be returned to the library anymore.
Unpaid invoices are transferred to debt collection.
The fees we collect are based on the Universities Act (558/2009), the Act on Criteria for Charges Payable to the State (150/1992), the Government Decree on fees for university services (1082/2009) and the Debt Collection Act (513/1999).
