Reservations and requests

Most of our subject and research literature is located in remote stacks outside the library. You can request these items through Tritonia Finna. The staff retrieves requested items from remote stacks daily.

Collect and borrow

You receive an email notification when the item you reserved or requested is ready to be collected and borrowed. It must be retrieved from the pickup shelf within three opening days. You will find your reservation on the pickup shelf according to the last four digits of your personal reservation ID. You can see the last pickup date and your reservation ID in the email notification, the Tuudo app and your account in Tritonia Finna. Remember to borrow the item with the self-service lending machine!

If you wish to cancel a reservation after receiving the email, please notify us by email at loans@uwasa.fi.

Reading room loans

Older volumes of journals, special collections and other materials located in remote stacks cannot be borrowed or requested in Tritonia Finna. You can request material for reading room use in the library with a separate online form.

If you want to reserve a textbook that is on the shelf in the library, you must pay the Tritonia Express service fee (2 €/book). The textbook is kept reserved for you at the service desk where you can pick it up during service hours. Textbooks on the shelf can be reserved on weekdays by email at loans@uwasa.fi. The service is free of charge for the staff of the University of Vaasa, VAMK and Novia and people with disabilities.

Tritonia Allegro

You can order books from one unit to another between Vaasa and Jakobstad. Please note that textbooks are not sent from unit to another. The service costs 5 € per book for universities’ students and 10 € per book for other customers. University teachers and customers with disabilities can order books for free. Items are sent from the units every Wednesday. If you wish to order a book from another unit, please contact loans@uwasa.fi.
