Interlibrary loan service

Colorful printed books on a bookshelf.

Are you doing a thesis?

If you are writing your thesis, you are entitled to free interlibrary loans, provided that you are a registered customer at Tritonia and the interlibrary loan request is made at Tritonia. This applies to:

  • bachelor’s and master’s degree students at the University of Vaasa
  • students doing a thesis at VAMK
  • students doing a thesis at Novia

The student must submit to Tritonia’s interlibrary loan service a certificate signed by the thesis supervisor to prove that they have started doing their thesis. The supervisor can also send information to the interlibrary loan service by email with the student’s name, university, subject and type of the thesis.

You can get five free interlibrary loan items against the certificate per thesis. The student pays for other interlibrary loans (books or articles) requested for the thesis.

If you are doing your thesis somewhere else than in Vaasa, you can acquire the necessary material from local libraries or use their interlibrary loan services.

Interlibrary loans for libraries

You can make a request for an interlibrary loan by email at ill@uwasa.fi or with an online form. If the item is in Tritonia Allegro’s collections in Jakobstad, contact tritonia.allegro@novia.fi. Tritonia is a NORFRI library and accepts IFLA vouchers as means of payment. In the email request, include the following information:

  • name of the library
  • Linda ID, customer number
  • email address
  • postal address
  • invoicing address and e-invoice address
  • invoice auditor
  • invoice reference
  • order number

If the item is on loan, you can make a reservation by sending the interlibrary loan request. Reservations made in the Tritonia Finna search service are not processed but removed.
