When visiting the library:

- I do not make assumptions about anyone’s sexuality, gender, nationality, ethnicity, values, religion, socio-economic background, health or functional ability based on appearance or actions.
- I am allowed to intervene in inappropriate behavior.
- I treat others as I would like to be treated.

Principles of a safer space
We always behave well and respect others. Threatening and violent behaviour, actions that disturb public order and suggest violence, physical and verbal threats as well as discrimination and bullying are not permitted.
If you experience a threat or harassment or notice any other inappropriate activity on the library premises, please contact the custodian, library staff or, in the evenings, the security guard, whose contact details you can find at the custodians’ info desk. In an emergency, always call 112.
A healthy and safe environment
The library complies with all applicable laws and regulations, including health and safety practices.
The library is smoke-free, and smoking is allowed only in designated places. In addition, it is polite to avoid using strong fragrances in the library, so that all customers can use the library safely.

Equality and non-discrimination are fundamental rights and basically mean the same thing: ensuring no one is discriminated and equal opportunities for all. In general as well as in legislation, equality means gender equality and non-discrimination other characteristics and criteria related to the person.
Equality refers to gender equality, which also includes gender identity, i.e., each person’s own experience of their gender, as well as gender expression through clothes, behaviour or other similar means. Discrimination based on gender is prohibited in all its forms.
